Prayer Points

The following prayer points are taken from NECF’s The 40-Days Fast & Prayer 2021 booklet:

  • Take a walk in your “taman” (neighborhood). Find a nice quiet bench and sit there to enjoy God’s creation. Then ask the Lord in prayer to show you your calling and purpose on earth.
  • Pray for the many domestic workers who receive unfair treatment by their employers (passport seized, salaries withheld, no communication allowed with their families, cruelty, violence, no rest days given, etc.) that God will grant them justice and that their employers will come to appreciate their contributions.
  • Pray for the Tring groups in Sarawak that they would encounter God through dreams and visions, and that their lives will never be the same again with such encounters with God.
  • Take 10 minutes of silence before God. Let your mind focus on enjoying His presence. If you can, have some instrumental worship music playing softly. Write down in your journal whatever the Holy Spirit brings to your mind. Look out for a blind spot and give thanks to God for revealing it to you.
  • Pray that the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) will come out with concrete plans to help solve the flood disasters that haveposed constant threats to areas that are affected during the rainy seasons, especially those in the East Coast states.
  • Pray for the small group of Utik who mostly resides in Upper Rajom and Tatau Rivers, Baleh, Sarawak, that they will pick up new survival skills to cope with environmental changes, and that they will be touched by the Good News of Jesus Christ.
  • Take 10 minutes of silence before God. Shut off all the voices from news, prophecies, signs and wonders, and friends. God’s voice is gentle and soft. Be still and acknowledge who He is. Don’t be in a rush. Just give thanks and ask what is that small change you need to make.
  • Pray that the programmes carried out by TalentCorp under the Prime Minister’s Department (e.g., Returning Expert Programme (REP), TheMalaysia Global Talent (MGT) and Critical Occupation List (COL), etc.) will accurately represent the shortages in key industries and help drive our nation’s talent strategies.
  • Pray for the Semelai (man of the land) groups whose villages sit along the wetlands surrounding Lake Bera, Pahang, that their efforts in developing ecotourism will be successful and help create more jobs and businesses for them.

Prayer:

Now that our 9th Prime Minister have been officially installed, prayer and intercession is more than asking God for something. It is also connecting with God, and in doing so, participating in what He is doing. Because of our human finite foresight and His infinite wisdom and foresight, we often cannot comprehend what He is doing and the see full extent of His plans and purpose.

Isaiah 55:8-9:

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.”

To all my fellow intercessors, I want you to know God hears and uses all our prayers for Malaysia. Let us be encouraged to know that His plans and purposes will be done and continue to pray as God rolls out His ultimate plan and purpose for Malaysia. It’s not FINAL until God’s WILL BE DONE.

The psalmist declares in 33:10-11

“The Lord foils the plans of the nations; He thwarts the purposes of the peoples. But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.”

LET US PRAY…..

Heavenly Father, we thank you for planting us through your infinite wisdom in Malaysia today. We submit to you and ask you to anoint us afresh as we seek to stand in the gap for your ultimate purpose for Malaysia to be done.

Continue to give us a great love for our nation.

We declare, “Come Your Kingdom and Be Done Your Will” for Malaysia.

Lord, pour your mercy upon our nation, forgive all our sins, let Your justice, mercy and righteousness prevail over judgement.

We commit our new Prime Minister into Your hands.

Bless his leadership and government. Grant him wisdom to see beyond himself, his political party and give him the mantle to lead and administrate Malaysia.

Shield him from evil counsellors and from the deceitfulness of man but surround him with able man and women who will put the interest of the nation above every other interest and human agendas.

Give us, O Lord, an excellent Ministerial Cabinet.

One that is excellent in vision, abilities, and mentality.

Heavenly Father, give our new Prime Minister a strategic mindset to further improve the nation’s strategic plan to combat the Covid-19 pandemic and declining economy.

Give him the willpower and boldness to think as a leader of ALL MALAYSIANS, irrespective of religion, race, creed or background.

May our political leaders be an example of righteousness, fairness, justice and competency. May those who hinder Your purpose be removed and bound in Jesus’ Name.

Lord Jesus, continue to pour out Your Holy Spirit on Your Church.

Let the spirit of consolation and faith arise during this trying but strategic times.

Help us be the salt and light, bringing a godly influence, integrity and righteousness especially those who have influence in the marketplace and walk along the corridors of political powers and influence.

Raise up the “Josephs” and “Daniels” with divine favour and place them in places of influence.

May our marketplace leaders think beyond profits.

Lord, help us not be weary while doing what is right, strengthen us to stay the course and keep our focus on You and Your purpose.

We ask all these in the Mighty and Matchless Name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.

Amen.
